The Chapel is located within the award-winning Mount Saint Annes mixed-use development in Milltown, Dublin 6. Milltown is a suburban location within a 10-minute drive of Dublin City Centre and St Stephens Green. The area is serviced by Dublin Bus and LUAS services, connecting Milltown to the city centre and surrounding suburbs by public transport.

The Mount Saint Annes development was designed by one of the tenants of The Chapel, award-winning Irish Architecture firm, O Mahony Pike. The development was constructed by Park Developments and comprises 650 residential units constructed on 4 acres of landscaped parkland. The development includes a Victorian convent which has been converted to residential use, a late Georgian style house, and the original Chapel, which are now in office use.

Description:

The Chapel at Mount Saint Annes in Milltown is a rare example of a perfect synergy between old and new, where a historic Chapel meets modern office accommodation. The 18th Century Chapel was meticulously converted and now provides 11,806 sq ft of modern office space finished and fitted to a very high standard.

A free-standing steel structure was inserted within the envelope of the original building completely transforming the interior and enabling the seamless conversion. The accommodation is laid out over three floors and showcases many of the building’s original features which have been carefully preserved.

Each floor comprises a mix of open-plan office space with meeting rooms and break-out areas. The specification includes raised access floors, carpeted floors, plastered and painted walls, and a mix of surface-mounted and suspended fluorescent lighting with air conditioning throughout. Overall, the renovated church now serves as a modern, functional, and unique office space, while still retaining some of its charm and character.
